RC Bergamo Ovest

Era il 13 Marzo 1986 quando il Rotary International sanciva la nascita del Rotary Club Bergamo Ovest al quale, il successivo 29 Maggio, veniva consegnata dall’allora Governatore del Distretto 204, Gianfranco Isalberti, la “Charta” quale documento ufficiale  della fondazione del Club.

Fu così che il RC Bergamo Ovest, costituitosi sotto l’egida del club padrino Rotary Club Bergamo, iniziava il suo cammino rotariano per il primo anno sotto la guida di Mario Uccelli, primo Presidente, cui succedeva per i due anni seguenti Renato Cortinovis, divenuto pochi anni dopo governatore del Distretto 2040. 

I due primi Presidenti, di lunga esperienza rotariana, impostavano l’attività dei 24 soci fondatori, avviandoli su di un percorso che avrebbe portato il club, progressivamente nel corso degli anni a svilupparsi ed a crescere con grande dinamismo e capacità di iniziativa.

Dinamismo e spirito costruttivo sono stati il motore che ha permesso di raggiungere altissimi livelli di servizio, espressi attraverso progetti locali, nazionali e internazionali, spesso spiccatamente orientati a temi culturali oltre che sociali.

La propensione ai rapporti internazionali si sono materializzati nei duraturi gemellaggi con i Rotary Club di Alicante Mare Nostrum, in Spagna, di Nice Baie Des Anges, in Francia,  Zottegem, in Belgio, ed il rapporto attualmente molto attivo con il Rotary Club Stuttgart Solitude, in Germania.

Il Rotary Club Bergamo Ovest è progressivamente cresciuto ed oggi conta 54 membri, mantenendo inalterato nel tempo, oltre alla sostanziale armonia, l’ elemento fondamentale che ha sempre contraddistinto il gruppo di Soci: lo spirito di amicizia, di coesione e di collaborazione.

On the 13th of March, 1986, Rotary International duly admitted Rotary Club Bergamo Ovest as a member of Rotary International, by issuing the membership certificate which, on the following May 29,  was handed to the newly admitted Club by  Gianfranco Isalberti, as the Governor of the Rotary District 204.

Rotary Club Bergamo Ovest, which was formed under the patronage of Rotary Club Bergamo, begun thereafter its activity under the guidance  of the first President Mario Uccelli and, for the two following years, of Renato Cortinovis, who some years later became Governor of Rotary District 2040.

The action of the first two Presidents, both characterized by long Rotarian experience, was essential in setting up the organization and the activity of the 24 founder members, leading them along the path which, in the following years, allowed the development and the growth of the Club in terms of significant dynamism and initiative capability.

Dynamism and constructive attitude have always been the driving force which enabled the Club to achieve very high level  of service, through local, national and international projects, often significantly oriented towards cultural and social issues.

Furthermore, the attitude to develop international actions and relationships has been proven over the years by the long lasting twinning with the Rotary Clubs of Alicante, in Spain, Nice Baie des Anges, in France, Zottegem, in Belgium, and the presently active relationship with RC Stuttgart Solitude, in Germany.

Rotary Club Bergamo Ovest has progressively grown and now counts 54 members, maintaining intact over time, in addition to harmony, the fundamental values which have constantly characterized the group of its members: friendship, cohesion and cooperation.
